At Machine Learning Reply Austria we strive to work on leading-edge data science projects with our clients for which we are seeking Data Frameworks consultants with a strong economics and IT background to support on the bridge between strategy consulting and data science.

Machine Learning Reply, with its sister companies in Italy and Germany and over 8500 employees at Reply globally, is a fast-growing consultancy focused on solving problems with Data Science and the right organizational frameworks as their backbone. We are a tight knit, laid back, but seriously motivated unit that aims to be involved at conferences and in community of practice with our tech partners.

Whilst Data Scientists take care of algorithm development, as a Data Framework Consultant, your aim is to advise the customer on how data usage is shaping strategic decisions or how Advanced Analytics can support business in an impactful manner by opening new fields of operations. You will work together with technical specialists in the area of big data and data science, so we expect a keen interest but also hands-on experience in data warehousing or BI topics.


Depending on project scope and your interest, you may be working

  • In a project to analyse the customers business need to devise the pathway for data strategy projects via concrete business cases and roadmaps
  • In an implementation project as part of a project team, together with Data Scientists and Data Engineers
  • Supporting C-Level decision making by providing business cases, qualitative assessments and workshops
You will work across several industries like banking, insurance, automotive, retail, etc. securing a maximum of cross-industrial learning.


Combine expertise in Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence and Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering with innovative thinking to deliver excellent client work in the area of Data Science and Data Strategy

Work together in a team with Data Scientists and/or Machine Learning Engineers

  • Collaborate with the client to identify requirements for business value adding end-to-end AI use cases
  • Define solution architectures using current on-premise and/or cloud technologies and discuss them with the client
  • Stay on top of emerging technologies, and partner with market-leading technology organizations to understand and leverage their products in the specific client context
  • Take over responsibility for implementation projects from solution design to implementation

  • A strong quantitative background, for example in Business Informatics, Business Science (with an additional background in Informatics), Computer Science (with additional background in Economics)
  • You have previously been part of at least one Data Engineering/Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence project
  • You hold experience in Requirements Engineering and prioritizing client needs to achieve your project goals
  • You have experience in waterfall and/or agile project management
  • You are fluent in English and have a good command of the German language and are keen to present the results of your work to colleagues and clients alike
  • You are willing to travel if required by the project
In addition the following skill areas are a plus and knowledge can be deepened through training schemes within your team

  • Previously worked with Data Visualization Tools (i.e. Tableau, QlikView/QlikSense, Tableau, Looker, ThoughtSpot)
  • Previously worked with Data Warehouses, Data Lakes and/or Data Platforms
  • Previously worked with ETL Tools (i.e. Talend, Ab Initio, Informatica)
  • Previously worked with versioning tools (i.e. GitLab, GitHub, GitBucket)
  • Previous experience in data modelling
  • You have code development experience using typed and/or untyped languages like Java/Scala or Python
  • You have development experience with relational databases (i.e. Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (i.e. Elasticsearch, HBase, Cassandra) would be a plus.
  • Experience with containerization (i.e. Docker) and container orchestration (i.e. Kubernetes) would be a plus.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies (i.e. Hive, Spark, Kafka) would be a plus
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) would be a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines based on (i.e. git, GitLab CI or Jenkins) would be a plus.
